Edwards Coaches Wins Livery of the Year for Wales Rugby Team Coach

Award winning South Wales company Edwards Coaches is pleased to announce it has won ‘Livery of the Year’ at the inaugural Wales Transport Awards on 2nd November 2019.

The prize was awarded for the company’s Red Dragon coach livery, which is famous for transporting the Wales rugby team and Edwards Coaches’ luxury holidays, as well as its new local bus service designs. The award aims to reward liveries that convey a positive image of the transport industry through striking designs and so Edwards’ commitment to innovative design and putting Wales on the map made the company a natural winner.

The Red Dragon coach is often seen across television and social media as it transports the rugby team to and from matches. The livery won over the judges with its commitment to highlight the company’s rich Welsh heritage as well as its desire to inspire on lookers as the Welsh team arrives in stadiums across the UK and Europe.

The local bus livery caught the panel’s eye with use of the company’s signature colours along with the tagline ‘Keeping your community moving’ to highlight Edwards’ place as an essential part of the local community. Many customers use the local bus to attend hospital appointments, run errands and commute to work so it was important to Edwards to convey to their customers that they understand the important role they play.
One of the bus rears was also given to local charity 2 Wish Upon A Star for free advertising as part of a wider social media competition.

Managing Director, Jason Edwards FCILT said: “We are over the moon to receive this award not only because it recognises the hard work of our staff but also the continued support from our customers. We never take our position in the local community for granted and appreciate that being able to deliver at a local level means we are able to work with bigger organisations such as the WRU.
A huge thank you must go to the panel for recognising the importance of design in reflecting our company’s values and heritage. See you next year!”
