Local adult hospice has added a new challenge to the fundraising events calendar this year and invites all to trek with them and their patron Tudur Owen on a 20 mile stretch along the stunning Anglesey Coastal Path.

The one day charity event on Sunday 5 April, follows a route from Cemaes Bay to Moelfre and boasts numerous local history landmarks and stunning views.

Raising funds for St David’s Hospice care on Anglesey, it will be physically demanding day, but an event not to be missed for anyone wanting to take on a new challenge in 2020.

Anglesey Area Fundraiser Ella Baxendale said:

“As St David’s Hospice moves closer to opening our new satellite hospice unit in Holyhead, and following the success of our three day Llyn Peninsula coastal path walk, we felt it was high time to set ourselves and our supporters a new challenge.

Some walking experience and training is necessary due to the tricky and challenging coastal terrain.

“All the proceeds from this beautiful challenge will be put towards funding our new Anglesey Hospice. By taking part you will not only be setting yourself a fantastic goal, but you will also be helping put an end to the postcode lottery that currently exists where hospice care is concerned on Anglesey.”

Hospice Patron and comedian Tudur Owen said:

“Join me for a 20 mile trek along the beautiful coastal path on Anglesey. It’s a little bit tricky in parts, but it will be a lot of fun. What isn’t a laughing matter however is the lack of Hospice facilities in Anglesey and North Gwynedd. All the proceeds from the trek will be going to help build the new St David’s Anglesey Hospice, caring for local people.”

Entry for the event is £25 per person with a minimum sponsorship level set at £100.

Participants must be aged 16 or over. To book your place go online www.stdavidshospice.org.uk or call 01248 751022.
