South Wales Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the B4265 Wick Road at approximately 3pm on Friday, May 22, 2026.

The collision involved a Suzuki motorcycle and a red Toyota Yaris.

A 37-year-old male died at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services. Police have confirmed his name is Robert Curl from Bridgend.

Robert’s family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers at this time. His family have paid the following tribute to him:

“As a family we are devastated at the loss of Robert, a son, brother, loving father, loving partner, uncle, grandson and nephew as well as a friend to many. He touched so many people’s lives and will be loved and missed always.”

The driver of the Toyota Yaris is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or witnessed the manner of driving of both vehicles prior to the collision to make contact. People are also urged to check for relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
