Wales’ largest further education college, Coleg Gwent, will host an immersive careers expo at Friars Walk Shopping Centre, Newport — from 10am-5pm on 10-13 June.

The four-day ‘Find your Future’ event will provide opportunities for students, parents and anyone interested in exploring a new career path — to receive practical advice and insights on the job market in South Wales.

The free entry event will welcome aspiring career-makers and changers of all ages to enjoy a packed schedule of activities — including hands-on experiences with local employers, where attendees can dive into immersive sessions on everything from virtual reality spray painting to ceramics and the innovative world of 3D printing.

What’s more, Coleg Gwent representatives will be on-hand to provide expert advice on student finance, application processes, enrollment, and college life — alongside information on specific courses.

With local employers attending throughout the week — including Aneurin Bevan Health Board, We Care Wales, Ffilm Cymru, Gwent Police and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) — attendees will receive exclusive insight into sector-specific career pathways.

Coleg Gwent’s Deputy Principal, Nicola Gamlin said: “For many young people, choosing a career can be daunting — but the Find Your Future expo has been developed to provide them with the resources to kickstart their journey.

“The event offers an incredible opportunity for our current learners and potential new ones to engage directly with industry professionals — and gain valuable insights into a wide range of career paths available in and around South Wales. We are dedicated to supporting our learners across every step of their career journey, and this event reinforces that commitment.”

The free-to-attend Expo is taking place from June 10 – 13, with doors open from 10am – 5pm. You’ll be able to find the Coleg Gwent team at Unit 2, Friars Walk Shopping Centre, Newport.
