Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of a former supermarket located in the market town of Cardigan in Ceredigion.

[aoa id=”1″]The former supermarket comprises a main ground floor trading area of approximately 7,580 sq ft, a small office and large storage areas on the ground and first floors. Occupying a prominent corner location in the town centre, adjacent to one of the town’s main parking facilities and near Cardigan Castle, the site benefits from good levels of footfall.[/aoa]

Previously owned by Mrs Sneh Patel of Sabretown Properties Limited for over 30 years, the property was previously rented out to Budgens Supermarket. Having taken the decision to sell in order to pursue retirement, Mrs Patel comments, “We would like to thank Jonathan for selling the store for us, there have been many hurdles along the way and with the process, although everybody got the best result in the end. I would also like to wish Janice Bell of the New Life Christian Centre all the best for their future plans and hope they have many happy years there.”

The vacant property has been acquired by The Cornerstone Works, a Christian Charity in the West Midlands, who will be leasing the site to New Life Christian Centre Cardigan. New Life Christian Centre Cardigan will be restructuring the property and introducing a food bank and cinema room to serve the community. Nick Houghton of The Cornerstone Works comments, “It’s been a privilege to work with Christie & Co and The New Life Christian Centre to help provide a new Church Centre with many community facilities.”

Janice Bell of the New Life Christian Centre comments:

“We received a lot of encouragement and help from various people and want to thank Jonathan Clements for the part he played in helping us to achieve what for us was an answer to prayer. We thank Mrs Patel for her patience and willingness to take the journey with us and we pray for her an enjoyable time of retirement. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Nick Houghton for all of his help and support and for providing the finance for this purchase.”

Jonathan Clements, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Cardiff office handled the sale and comments, “I am delighted to have assisted Mrs Patel in selling her business and wish her all the best for retirement. I am sure that New Life Christian Centre Cardigan will enhance the community.

“We are seeing increased activity within the region since January 2018, which is reflected in increased viewing numbers, offers presented and completions. These are exciting times for South Wales and we are pleased to be able to assist in securing a successful completion.”

The property was sold off a guide price of £700,000 for the freehold interest.
