Charities and social enterprises in Swansea can now apply to secure free business broadband for the next five years.

Swansea Council has teamed up with Virgin Media O2 to provide eight free connections.

Applications are now open with a closing date of noon on Friday February 28.

Swansea Council Leader Rob Stewart said: “As part of the City Deal and our investment in digital infrastructure and skills we have been working closely with Virgin Media.

“They run a number of community initiatives and this will provide eight charities with free business broadband for the next five years, reducing their costs and helping them to enhance their digital capabilities and better serve their communities.

“When applying applicants need to show how , if successful, they will use free broadband to support individuals who are currently digitally excluded to get online and also how it will support the work that they do.”

Each application will be assessed with the eight most suitable receiving the offer.
