FUW Anglesey look forward to busy two-day county show

The Anglesey branch of the Farmers’ Union of Wales is looking forward to a busy county show (Tuesday August 14 – Wednesday August 15) held at the Mona Showground, and extend a warm welcome to everyone.

FUW Anglesey CEO Alaw Jones said:

“We are looking forward to a jam-packed county show where we will be discussing #FarmingMatters and #FairFarmFunding with our members and elected politicians. I hope many of you can join us for what promises to be an excellent show.”

North Wales Police and Crime commissioner Arfon Jones will be present from 11am – 1pm on the Tuesday as well as Sarah Wedge of Davis Meade Property Consultants, one of the Union’s land agents, to discuss planning applications and answer any questions. Also Keith Owen from ADAS will be on the stand from 1pm onwards to answer questions about agricultural pollution.

North Wales AM Mark Isherwood will be visiting the stand on the Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary Lesley Griffiths AM will be on the stand on the Wednesday as well as Anglesey AM Rhun ap Iorwerth.

FUW Senior Policy Officer Dr Hazel Wright will be on the stand all day on the Wednesday to give a presentation on TB and answer any questions.

FUW Anglesey CEO Euros Jones said: “We will have local trio ‘Edern’ entertaining us on the Tuesday afternoon and musician Gwilym Bowen Rhys on the Wednesday afternoon, make sure you join us.”

Union officials will be presenting FUW rosettes to all young handlers over the course of the show. There will be a raffle, ‘name the special creature’ and children’s colouring competitions too.

“We are both looking forward to welcoming you to what will be our first Anglesey show with the Union, come and see us for a chat, cuppa and cake,” added Alaw and Euros.
