The Farmers’ Union of Wales and FUW Insurance Services Ltd. are looking forward to welcoming members and customers to the Usk Show on Saturday 10 September.

The event, which has been a roaring success for the Union last year, will be held at Usk Showground, Gwernesney, Usk and promises to once again be a busy and successful day to celebrate the very best of Monmouthshire farming and rural life.

FUW Glamorgan and Gwent County Executive Officer Sharon Pritchard said: “We are very excited to welcome friends, family, members, FUW Insurance Services customers and everyone who wants to find out more about the Union to our marquee on the day.

“Russia’s war on Ukraine has exacerbated ongoing impacts caused by the pandemic and Brexit and is causing major economic pressures for consumers and businesses and a global food emergency. This and other issues will be high on our agenda of discussion when we meet with our elected politicians.”

The FUW will also be highlighting policies from its five point plan that it believes the new Prime Minister and UK Governments must implement in order to relieve pressures for farmers, food producers and consumers in the immediate term, while bolstering food and energy security in ways which reduce the long term dangers of exposure to global emergencies.

Joining the FUW Ltd. group on the day are ‘Stump up for Trees’, who will be on hand to advise farmers about tree and hedgerow planting.  The county office has also arranged a raffle and childrens competition.
