Recognising the hugely positive impact of the scheme in helping people take their first step onto the property ladder, a dedicated Help to Buy weekend will take place at the marketing suite this weekend – Saturday 1stand Sunday 2ndSeptember from 11am – 5pm.

Independent financial advisers and the development’s experienced team will be available on both days to offer one-to-one advice to help potential purchasers see how the scheme can work specifically for them.

A prestigious development of 85 luxury 1 and 2-bedroom apartments – situated on the waterfront overlooking Cardiff’s East Dock – the apartments lie mid-way between the City and the Bay; perfectly located to make the most of all that the surrounding area has to offer.

With 50% already sold, half of these sales have been made possible through Help to Buy.

Speaking about the impact the scheme has already had on sales at Schooner Wharf, sales director, Shirley Thomas said:

“The figures really do speak for themselves – with Help to Buy, a new apartment could cost so much less than you’d think – and much less than it would to rent.

“As an example, a 1-bedroom apartment with a purchase price of £125,000 – our properties start at £125,000 – with a £93,750 mortgage using a 5% deposit with 20% Help to Buy Wales would equate to a £359 investment per month; far less than to rent an equivalent property, and it’s a similar picture for the two-beds.

“We’re seeing the positive impact of the Help to Buy Wales scheme on a daily basis, putting our buyers in a position to secure a fantastic home in one of the best locations in the city.

“We have lots of first-time buyers on our books who just wouldn’t be able to afford a home in such an enviable location without taking up Help to Buy – and it’s great to see them getting on the property ladder.

“We welcome anyone who is interested in finding out how they can benefit and take advantage of the assistance available to come and see and see what’s on offer this weekend.”
