GiG Finalizes Contract With Undisclosed “tier-one” Land-Based Operator

The world of iGaming is an exciting and dynamic space, and operators have clearly noted the lucrative value of this market with increasing numbers of online casinos being launched.

However, the space is also highly competitive and making the success of an online casino gaming portal is easier said than done if you have no experience with online markets. However, combining the experience of a successful land-based casino operator with a company that has industry insights and the technical experience to understand the digital market is a match made in heaven.

A Fruitful Partnership for the iGaming Market

Exciting news for gamers across the world as the Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has signed ahead of terms agreement with an undisclosed ‘tier-one’ retail casino operator. This follows another announcement earlier this month about GiG completing their acquisition of sportsbook supplier Sprtnco for EUR 51.3 million, bolstering the company’s sports betting offering. Partially financed by a large investment from SkyCity, this deal allowed their partner to nominate their Cheif Executive Office, Michael Ahearn, to GiG’s board of directors.

Discussions are underway, and it is believed that the business deal will extend to other sectors, beyond online casinos where players can win real money. The first phase of this deal centres around GiG providing the land based-operator with a full online casino solution, including all the technological infrastructure, gaming content, front end development, managed services, customer service support as well as compliance and marketing.

Conquering The Challenges of the Online Gambling Market

While the online gambling sector has proved to be a profitable space in which to operate, entering such a saturated market isn’t always easy for land-based operators. Online casinos can attract a broader range of clients without geography being an obstacle, but appealing to this tech-savvy market requires a more nuanced strategy. The fact is, with gambling regulations being tightened in the UK, any operator entering this space needs to be at the top of their game if they want to thrive in a cut-throat arena.

This is why it makes perfect sense with a party that understands the online market in the way GiG does.

A spokesperson reiterated this sentiment by stating that: “Through GiG’s full turnkey managed service solution, the complexity of digitally transforming the retail business online is greatly reduced, whilst at the same time, reducing the operator’s cost of entry.”

    Prospects For The Future

The final agreement between GiG and its land-based casino partner is still to be signed off. However, it is likely that this will be set in stone by the middle of 2022, with an agreement to work together for three years.

The casino operator is then likely to go live with the GiG-powered online casino platform in the second half of the year with the hope of seeing a positive impact on their bottom line from the final quarter four of 2022.

GiG’s Chief Executive Officer Richard Brown expressed his hopes for the future of this productive new partnership by saying: ‘“I am extremely excited to partner with a prominent operator within the land-based industry that shares our values on responsible gaming, CSR and passion for the power of embracing digital transformation,”

Brown went on to discuss why a diversifying a portfolio with a multichannel approach while taking advantage of existing brand recognition makes sense for operators looking to remain comparative in such a dynamic space, like that presented by the online gambling sector: “We see great potential in the UK, particularly when we can harness ‘brand equity and the retail footprint that the partner holds with our omnichannel solutions.

With regards to the future of GiG’s partnership agreement with the tier-one operator, Brown stated that:

“We look forward to working closely with their team to maximise their potential through a successful digital transformation and anticipate this to become a significant and high-value client for GiG. This type of deal is directly in our ‘wheelhouse’, helping land-based operators digitally transform and showcase our product in the UK market.”
