Valleys to Coast Housing is delighted to be leading the exciting and innovative Growth for Good Project, working with Keep Wales Tidy to set up three food-growing hubs in the next year within Bridgend. The hubs will be located at Wildmill Estate, Blaencaerau Estate and Heol Y Frenhines, Cefn Glas.
The Growth for Good Project is funded by the Local Places for Nature scheme. It is being delivered by the National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with the Welsh Government.
The food-growing hubs will be community-led and supported by the team at Valleys to Coast. The hubs will be open to anyone to volunteer and there will be further information circulated about open days and opportunities to visit the hubs during the set-up period.
The hubs will allow local communities to come together to grow their own food, be outdoors, learn new skills and support their mental health.

By growing our own food and working together, we can create a healthier, more connected, and sustainable community.”
Valleys to Coast has already engaged with local community groups and schools as part of the preparation for the project and building on those links will be vital to the success of the project.
Growth for Good is a long-term project for Valleys to Coast focused on food growing, carbon capture and community engagement. There will be further projects and initiatives developed over the next five years.
