You may have read search engines and people emphasizing the importance of original content. And now you want to know how to create it. If this sounds like you, we have got you covered here.

In this post, we’ll discuss the tips to help you create original and authentic content. So, buckle up and get ready to learn the ins and outs of writing original content.

    • Do Your Research

When creating original content, the research phase is one of the most important things. That’s because the more sound your research will be, the better and original material you can find on your topic. So, do not overlook this phase.

But you can only perform better research on your topic if you start working early. So, plan the rest of the phases of your content creation process. Doing so will prevent you from the fear of approaching deadlines. And when it comes to the actual research phase, expand your reach beyond the SERPs. Instead, we recommend exploring some other relevant sources like:

    • Books.
    • Newspapers.
    • Research papers.

Doing so will help you discover uncovered areas on your topic, as most people limit their research to SERPs.

    • Create a Rough Outline

Everybody says: ‘Do your research.’ But nobody emphasizes its ‘how’ portion. So, while exploring the aforementioned resources, highlight the important bits and pieces.

We recommend creating a rough outline irrespective of worrying about the relevance of points.

Doing so will let your creative juices flow. But that’s not it because an outline will also help you stay on track and prevent you from missing anything essential that can be included in your topic.

    • Write from Your Own Perspective

We humans differ from one another based on our knowledge. This means that everybody has a different point of view about a topic. So, once you have the material you want to cover in your topic, it’s time to expand on it. And you can do that by using your own point of view.

When you create something using your own point of view, it will hardly face the issue of content duplication. So, this technique is the key to creating original content. But while doing this, make sure to stay away from the sources you’ve explored in the research phase. Doing so will help you prevent accidental content duplication.

    • Learn the Right Ways to Avoid Plagiarism

Everybody takes inspiration from somewhere. So, no content piece is 100% original. But the big question is, how does their content avoid the issue of plagiarism? The answer to this query is correctly using plagiarism prevention techniques.

For instance, some people prefer explaining an existing piece of content in their own words without changing its context. Such a technique is known as paraphrasing. So, you can use this approach to include something from an existing piece. But don’t forget to give credit to the original author of the content, even after rephrasing the content.

But sometimes, you can’t explain something in your own words. That’s because doing so ruins its essence. So, if that’s the situation, you can use some portion of existing content as-it-is and enclose it in double quotations like this:

“Quoted text will come here.” (In-text citation)

This technique is known as quoting. But like paraphrasing, don’t forget to cite the original information owner after enclosing it in double quotes. Otherwise, your quoted information will be considered plagiarism.

    • Fill in the Gaps

If you are on this post, it means you’re probably discussing a topic already covered. And if that’s the case, avoiding plagiarism will be more challenging. But there’s still a way.

For instance, every piece of content has gaps, which are basically uncovered areas or approaches. So, if you can find and address them, your content will be original and gain more popularity than existing pieces.

Similarly, suppose you’re covering something related to tech, instead of finding the uncovered areas alone. In that case, you can also look for the updates that may have arrived since publishing existing content. This technique is another ideal way to target both originality and quality when creating content.

    • Use a Plagiarism Checker

The written content can still fall prey to accidental duplication or plagiarism issues even after performing all the aforementioned tips. Therefore, the last recommendation is the most crucial point in this guide.

It specifies that performing a final plagiarism check on your content is essential once you have done everything. And you can do that with the help of an advanced plagiarism checker. Such tools use deep search and other strategies to scan and compare the entered text against various sources quickly. So, make sure to choose a reliable tool for identifying the traces of content duplication. Otherwise, all your effort will become useless.

    Conclusion

Creating original content can be challenging, especially if you’re new to this field. But with the right guidelines, this entire process can become easier. Thus, whether you’re a beginner or a professional facing challenges in creating original content, you can get help from the aforementioned points.
