St David’s Cardiff is celebrating the best of Wales, and launching a new limited edition make-up palette in honour of St David’s Day.

The new and exclusive Colours of Cymru eyeshadow palette pays homage to local sayings and icons, bringing them to life in 35 vivid colours that you’ll only truly appreciate if you’re Welsh or live in Wales.

For the first time, you can wear the eye-catching shade of Caroline Street’s infamous late-night takeaway captured in the colour Chippy Lane Sglodion or be emblazoned with the lush greens of the valleys in the shades of Green Green Grass of Home and Cwm Rhondda. The palette is also home to the colours of the iconic Welsh Daffodil, Dragon and Billy the Seal as well as the landmarks of Snowdon, Castell Coch, the River Taff and the Gower.

Welsh food fans will find a trove of inspired colours such as Welsh Cake, Bara Brith, Laverbread and Glamorgan Sausage while there’s also a nod to Cardiff City with Bluebirds. And if you’ve ever wondered how the loved Welsh expressions of Cwtch, Cariad, Caru, and Lush would translate into colour, you now have a chance to find out.

St David’s has over 100 of the palettes to give away. In order to win a St David’s Day make up palette guests need to visit the centre and sign up for the competition using its member-only free WiFi (St_Davids_Guest) between 15th February – 1st March.

James Waugh, Centre Director, at St David’s, said: “We’re really excited to share this proud, colourful celebration of Wales and can’t wait to see people’s reactions. We’re looking forward to seeing the creative uniquely Welsh looks our winners put together with the Colours of Cymru palette. Cymru am byth.”

St David’s will be hosting a series of celebrations for St David’s Day, including surprise treats for centre guests as well as an on-site live artwork by Wales’ own Britain’s Got Talent artist Nathan Wyburn on Saturday 26th February.

For your chance to win one of the limited edition Colours of Cymru palettes, which is vegan and packaged in recycled and recyclable materials, visit St David’s Dewi Sant.
