World-class professional wrestling is coming to Cardiff this weekend as British Kingdom Pro-Wrestling prepares to bring an international line-up of talent to the Welsh capital.
The promotion, which has spent more than two decades building a reputation for showcasing future global stars and major wrestling names, will host a major event at Walkabout Cardiff on 17 May.
Headlining the show is a BKPW Junior Heavyweight Championship triple threat match, with reigning champion The Brian Kendrick defending his title against Tiger Ali and Chris Ridgeway in what is expected to be one of the standout matches of the night.
The championship itself carries a notable history, with previous holders including global wrestling star Kenny Omega. The winner in Cardiff will add their name to a respected lineage within the independent wrestling scene.
Kendrick brings more than 25 years of experience into the contest, having competed across WWE, Europe and Japan during his career. A former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, he is no stranger to high-pressure multi-man matches, having previously held the WWE Championship during a Championship Scramble match.
His challengers also arrive with strong reputations. Tiger Ali is regarded as one of the UK independent circuit’s most decorated performers, while Chris Ridgeway has earned international recognition through appearances across Europe and Japan thanks to his technical wrestling style.
The triple threat format adds another layer of unpredictability, with the champion able to lose the title without being pinned directly.
The Cardiff event will also feature international talent from Japan, with Kouga from Pro Wrestling NOAH taking on Welsh wrestler Nico Angelo, known to fans as “The Man with a Black Heart of Gold”.
Other matches on the card include:
- ‘The Stallion’ Chris Bronson vs Charlie Sterling
- Nadia Sapphire vs Ruby Manitoba
- JD Knight vs ‘The English Lion’ Eddie Ryan
Founded in Swindon as 4 Front Wrestling, British Kingdom Pro-Wrestling has spent 22 years bringing major wrestling talent to audiences outside traditional arena venues. Over the years, the promotion has featured names including Rey Mysterio, Kenny Omega and Pénta.
The event at Walkabout Cardiff will also include merchandise stands, a licensed bar and fan photo opportunities with wrestlers.
Promoter Nadia Ageli said:
“Cardiff is a city that deserves world-class professional wrestling, and that is exactly what we are bringing on 17th May. A championship triple threat, international talent, and a card built from top to bottom to entertain. We cannot wait to bring BKPW back to Wales.”
