People who live and work in Swansea are being urged to join 4TheRegion for its landmark annual conference at the Swansea Building Society Arena on Thursday 6th March. The free event provides a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with others, learn more about the ongoing regeneration of the city and hear about the opportunities available for both businesses and individuals.

4TheRegion has once again partnered with Swansea Council to deliver this major event which is expected to attract 1,500 people for a day of keynote speeches, workshops, exhibition zones and the opportunity to meet like-minded people. The headline sponsor for the event is CEIC (Circular Economy Innovation Communities) with Swansea Building Society Arena and Creative Swansea sponsoring the exhibition zones.

4TheRegion is an alliance that champions collaboration and connectivity in the Swansea Bay region by facilitating conversations that drive forward positive change. It has created a range of groups and working partnerships that showcase the importance of collaboration to address issues that affect South West Wales.

Attendees will hear speeches and panel discussions throughout the day, starting with an update on city centre regeneration projects. Further talks will discuss Swansea’s night-time economy, its leisure and retail offering, sustainable food systems and economic development.

Dawn Lyle, Managing Director of 4TheRegion comments: “It’s Your Swansea is undoubtedly our biggest event of the year as we bring together people and businesses to share ideas and learn about opportunities in the city and beyond. This event draws in attendees from the public sector, business community, charities, students and individuals and our theme this year centres around connection. Our goal is to stimulate connections between people, raise awareness of the issues that affect us and the power of joining together to find solutions. It will be a positive and empowering event that we hope will ignite action and inspire collaborations.”

Cllr Rob Stewart, Swansea Council Leader, said: “The It’s Your Swansea conference has become a key part of the annual Swansea events calendar since its inception, so we’re delighted to be supporting it once again.

“A huge amount of regeneration is happening in Swansea for the benefit of our businesses and residents.

“Recent project completions include the reopening of the Palace Theatre building and the reopening of Albert Hall, with the 71/72 Kingsway office scheme also due for imminent completion.  Over 75% of that building is now under offer and talks are advanced for the remaining space at the building, with tenant announcements due in the coming weeks.

“Many more schemes are also in the pipeline, including a revamp of Castle Square Gardens, the completion of the Y Storfa community services hub and the start of construction for the public sector hub planned for the former St David’s shopping centre site.

“These schemes are important because they create new jobs and opportunities, protect existing employment, support our businesses and encourage the private sector to further invest in the city.

“We look forward to giving an update at the conference, which will include some exciting and exclusive announcements about schemes coming to Swansea in the near future.

“The conference gives a fantastic opportunity to network, share ideas and find out more about all the great work that’s being done in Swansea.”

Businesses interested in exhibiting at the event can book any remaining spaces by contacting Zoe Antrobus – [email protected] or visiting the website booking page.
