Keeping the Inside of Your Car Clean During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Since COVID-19 appeared, we have had to adapt our lifestyles almost overnight, but as lockdown restrictions begin to ease, many of us will be heading out more. If you are driving your car to go shopping or to go to work during the pandemic, then you need to make sure you keep the inside of it clean and germ-free. This will reduce the risk of the disease spreading to you, amongst your household, to loved ones, and to the people you pass on the street. Today, we will be taking a look at the things you should do in order to keep the inside of your car clean during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Wipe Everything You Touch

Using antibacterial sprays and wipes to disinfect anything you need to touch when re-entering your car after going out in public will keep you and your car virus-free and will reduce the spread. This includes wiping down door handles, shopping bag handles, your seatbelt, steering wheel, radio and gear stick. You should purchase a reliable brand that will kill the coronavirus, and keep the wipes in your vehicle.

    Bin Rubbish and Clutter

No one really enjoys driving a messy car, and while covid-19 is circulating, you should make a conscious effort to bin any rubbish and clutter that builds up inside your vehicle. As well as making your car look better, keeping the inside clean and clear will make it smell better and will reduce the risk of harmful pathogens growing in your car, which could make you unwell and increase your risk of catching the virus.

    Freshen Up the Air

Keeping the air inside your car clean is just as important as wiping down the surfaces. If your car experiences odour issues due to pets, children, or other sources that can’t be removed, then your car will benefit from an air freshener spray. Rather than hanging an air freshener in your car, you can invest in one of these car air freshener sprays which will last longer and can be sprayed whenever you need it. They will keep your car smelling fresh and the range on Key Performance Parts come in a range of scents available to suit every preference.

    Do Not Cross Contaminate

Cross-contamination is something you need to keep in mind and must avoid when travelling around during the pandemic. Many people choose to wear gloves when going into public spaces, which is all well and good, but if you use your gloved hands to touch your hair, face or anything inside the car after touching stuff out in public, then you are making yourself vulnerable to the virus.

    Keep Your Hands Clean

Wearing protective gear out in public is highly recommended, but the best way to keep your car safe from COVID-19 is by washing your hands before and after entering public spaces. You should keep hand sanitiser on you at all times, as this will allow you to disinfect your hands even when soap and water is not available. Many people keep hand sanitiser in their car, but this is not recommended.

If you don’t keep yourself and your vehicle clean while travelling around during the pandemic, then you will put everyone you meet at risk. By following the above and listening to government guidelines, you will protect yourself and others from the deadly coronavirus.
