A Swansea-based kidney charity, Popham Kidney Support, has recently unveiled an exciting new initiative for businesses: an opportunity to become associated partners with the charity.

This new initiative has been created to develop mutually beneficial relationships with businesses throughout Wales to support the charity’s aims of improving the lives of Children, youths and adults with Kidney Disease in Wales, while also aiding with its effort to raise £130,000 for the refurbishment of the Children’s Kidney Centre at Cardiff & Vale University Hospital by March 2023.

Popham Kidney Support is extending this opportunity to businesses throughout from any industry, and all of Popham Kidney Supports corporate partners will help it raise awareness of the charity and support those affected by kidney disease.

Corporate partners will have: their logos and company information included on its website and social media; have access to volunteering and engagement opportunities for employees and a chance to fund specific campaigns, projects, services or roles; receive invitations to all the charity’s events and be recognised at its annual Awards Ceremony.

In July, the charity reached the £50,000 milestone of its fundraising target for the Children’s Kidney Centre thanks to events such as its Golf Day, which generated over £10,000.

Popham Kidney Support has also welcomed a new corporate partner as part of this new initiative, FAI Automotive, one of the UK’s leading distributors of premium aftermarket automotive components. FAI Automotive have been an ongoing supporter of the charity and was part of this year’s Golf Day competition.

FAI Automotive CEO, Jonathan Alexander, donated £1,000 personally to help raise the funds generated reach £10,000. This generous donation was reciprocated by the charity by making FAI Automotive its first corporate partner.

Speaking on the new partnership, Jonathan Alexander, CEO at FAI Automotive, said:

“It is a great pleasure to become the first corporate partner of Popham Kidney Support. The main reason I donated the additional £1000 was to increase awareness of how important our NHS health service is for the children at the Children’s Kidney Centre. We are delighted to be supporting this much needed refurbishment.”

Joanne Popham, Popham Kidney Support CEO, said:

“We’ve had quite a lot of interest over the last few years with corporates being interested in supporting us and we’ve enjoyed working with them, so we wanted to make our partnerships a more substantial offer.

“We now have a sponsorship structure in place where our partners will receive certain marketing opportunities and other benefits in return for their donation. Companies who would like to be a part of our partnership network can get in contact with us to create a bespoke partnership agreement.”

Any businesses interested in becoming a corporate sponsor can contact Popham Kidney Support’s Fundraising and Communications Officer, Kathryn Jones, for more information by emailing [email protected] or calling 07745539044.
