Kids Planet expands North Wales presence with two acquisitions

One of the UK’s leading early-years childcare providers, Kids Planet Day Nurseries, has expanded its presence in North Wales with two new acquisitions of The Wendy House Day Nursery in Brynford, and Snuggles Day Nursery in Denbigh.

Located in the peaceful village of Brynford, The Wendy House is a purpose-built nursery with countryside views, welcoming families from Brynford, Calcoed and the surrounding areas. The second nursery, Snuggles Day Nursery on Rhyl Road in Denbigh, is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It provides full day care for children as well as an out-of-school club, Snuggle Juniors, at the nearby Ysgol Frongoch.

These new additions bolster Kids Planet’s presence in Wales following the take-over of Springfields Group earlier this year. Kids Planet has a unique childcare approach in a secure environment where children are actively encouraged to explore, learn and interact with others, including nutritious chef-approved home-cooked meals, SEND support and nature-based approach to name a few. Kids Planet is so committed to this that it has a happiness guarantee.

Clare Roberts, CEO of Kids Planet Day Nurseries, said: “I am pleased to welcome Snuggles and The Wendy House into the Kids Planet family, growing our presence in North Wales with nurseries that align with our own ethos for high-quality education and care with the child at the centre. The nurseries come with excellent teams, with strong reputations built over a number of years. We look forward to supporting the settings and families moving forward.”

Tina Griffiths, previous owner of Snuggles, said: “After 23 years of successfully running our business, we made the tough decision to sell the nursery. We carefully considered our options and felt that Kids Planet are aligned with everything we strived for. They share our ethos on delivering a family-centred approach, focused on the details of children’s welfare and development whilst providing the highest standards of care for children. It’s the end of an era, but an exciting future lies ahead. We are confident that the business will continue to thrive under Kids Planet.”

Wendy Powell, previous owner of The Wendy House, said: “With a lot of hard work and dedication over the years the nursery has developed an excellent reputation. It made the decision to sell hard but it is right time for me to step back, now having two young grandchildren. A challenging process was made far easier by Kids planet who have been empathetic and supportive, making the transition as easy as possible for all involved. I wish them the very best as they continue on their exciting journey.”
