Award-winning home builder Llanmoor Homes has announced the acquisition of land for up to 450 brand new homes in Tondu on the outskirts of Bridgend.

The development will offer a range of two, three and four-bedroom open market sale homes. In addition, Llanmoor will be constructing up to 45 Affordable homes, helping Welsh Assembly Government to achieve their housing targets.

[aoa id=”1″]Situated on 54 acres, close to the popular Village of Aberkenfig, the development has easy access to the M4 motorway and is adjacent to existing modern shopping facilities including a Lidl supermarket, Farm Foods & Home Bargains retail stores. It is within close proximity to Mcarthur Glen Retail outlet, Sainsburys supermarket and numerous other amenities. The development also borders the 300 acre Parc Slip nature reserve with its visitor centre, wildlife, cycle and walking routes.[/aoa]

Alongside the construction of the new houses the development will see Llanmoor Homes investing up to £1.6 million by way of contribution to education to provide improved facilities for primary schooling at existing schools in the area, as well as construction of a new link road by pass by way of re-alignment of the A4063.

Improvements to the Aberkenfig Roundabout, provision of recreation space within the development and £250,000.00 contribution towards sustainable travel initiatives will also be provided as part of the development.

Tim Grey, Sales Director of Llanmoor Homes, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have acquired land for the construction of up to 450 homes at Tondu. Our previous award-winning development in Tondu proved exceptionally popular to home buyers in the Bridgend area.”

“We very much look forward to making a start on site and to building another development of high quality new open market sale and affordable homes. In addition to the housing, the development will also provide an area of up to 1,000 square metres of commercial development.”

Llanmoor Homes recently won the award for ‘Best Large Volume New Housing Development’ at the LABC South Wales Awards 2019.

Subject to gaining formal approval of the site layout, the approximate start date of Phase one housing is the Spring 2020. Llanmoor hope to release the first homes on the development during Summer 2020.
