Road users are being advised of planned works commencing Monday, 27th January, on one of Swansea Bay’s busiest roads to undertake an essential repair within Neath Port Talbot Council’s drainage network that serves Elba Crescent.

Work will take place on the A483 Fabian Way westbound carriageway at a point between Elba Crescent and Swansea University’s Bay Campus.

The work will require a temporary single lane closure on the westbound carriageway.

The Fabian Way westbound carriageway bus stop will also be relocated for the duration of the project.

Avoiding any unforeseen plant issues and weather permitting, the work should take approximately two weeks to complete.

The work, undertaken by Neath Port Talbot Council’s Highways and Drainage Services (HADS) team, is due to take place between 8am and 4pm.

Pumping equipment will be present on the footway to manage water levels while the repair work is carried out.

Residents of Elba Crescent have been informed by letter there will be restrictions to vehicle access at the rear lane situated between no.18 and no.19.

Access for emergency services will be available at all times.

A council spokesperson said: “We would like to thank road users and residents for their cooperation and understanding throughout the duration of this important repair work.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and aim to complete the works with as little disruption as possible.”
