The survival of a long distance relationship relays on communication. In fact it’s the base of any relationship. To keep the relationship in life, the two long distance partners must maximize communication. But the question is what to communicate on? What to talk about? What topics to discuss?

    The happenings of the day

It always work to start a conversation. Asking how went your day, or what did you do during the day, is a good way to begin conversation. You can talk about how was your work during the day. Tell them an interesting fact or something that you stumbled upon recently and couldn’t help but ponder over. You can also talk about people you meet everyday.  You can talk about your office co-workers.  Start like ‘you wouldn’t believe what John did today’. This also makes them feel involved. You can talk about where you went in the day or at a certain moment. It

    Health talk

Make is an habit to check on your partner from time to time and ask them how they feel physically and wait for the answer. You should also talk about you mental health. This is how you both are feeling emotionally. You can also browse Jerkmate games. Is there any scaring or troubling you? Talk about it with your partner. Tell me what you like and don’t like. What gets you angry and what get you happy.

    Talk about family and friends

If the conversation is always about you and your partner, it will become boring later on. Extend to conversation field to the family and friends of both of you. You can talk about who’s your bestie, how you met, since when you met band how you became best friends. You can also talk about your relationship with your family members: your father, mother, siblings , how many are there (if you have of course) , their names, etc….

    Childhood memories

Share with your partner some of your best and even bad childhood memories. You can share some of your pictures when you were a baby or pictures of different phases of your life. It may be pictures of your years in school for instance. You can also talk about what were your graduations like? What was your best subject in school? Or pick a year and describe to one another what happened or what you were doing that year.

Talk about unimportant and silly matters

Anything may be a good point to start a conversation. It’s true you will have to take about serious matters like finance, projects, etc… but you can also talk about unimportant and silly matters. You may ask you partner their pet peeves or favourite song. Ask them when they have been embarrassed most in the life. Such light humoured questions can make your conversation interesting and funny but at the same time, it connects both of you on a deeper level unknowingly. The upside of this is you get to know your partner better. You get to know what’s under the cover.
