Lower School pupils at Rydal Penrhos have continued their exceptional work throughout the community thanks to another special project.
The school’s Year 7 and 8 contingent made the short trip to Llanddulas on Wednesday, May 17, where they took part in a coastal path clean-up as part of their ongoing work to improve different areas throughout the region.
During the afternoon, the two groups were tasked with two separate parts of the path to make it more presentable, while also providing easier access for cyclists and those walking along the picturesque area.
They were also given an extra responsibility by Deputy Head Tim Cashell, who brought his two dogs along to enjoy the sunshine to keep the group entertained.
This is the latest in a long line of community outreach projects organised by Rydal Penrhos throughout the academic year, which have included voluntary work around the grounds of Gwrych Castle, which is currently being renovated by former pupil Dr Mark Baker.
Mr Cashell, said:
“Our Lower School pupils have shown a fantastic application and desire to make the world around them a better place, and this is something we look to install within each pupil under our care here at Rydal Penrhos from an early age.
“We are proud of our association with both the Colwyn Bay and the wider community, which has brought significant benefits for both sides since our inception in the late 1800’s.”
