Hit TV series Landscape Artist of the Year is heading to Margam Country Park this summer, with members of the public invited to watch filming take place at the iconic Welsh location.

The popular art competition programme will film a brand new episode at Margam Castle on Monday, June 29 as part of a refreshed format for the upcoming series.

    Landscape Artist of the Year

The new series will see 10 artists travel across the country taking on landscape challenges in different locations each week. Contestants who progress through the competition will return episode after episode to create new work, with one artist eliminated during each round.

For the Margam episode, artists will be challenged to capture the character and surroundings of Margam Castle while cameras roll throughout the day.

Visitors are being encouraged to come along and soak up the creative atmosphere, with organisers inviting people to bring sketch pads and enjoy the event alongside the competing artists.

Entry to the filming is free, although standard parking charges will apply at the park.

Organisers have reminded visitors that photography and video recording of the artists or their artwork will not be permitted during filming.

The event is expected to attract art lovers, families and fans of the long-running television series to one of Wales’ most recognisable historic locations.
