Wales is set for an unsettled spell of weather this weekend, with the Met Office warning of heavy rain and strong winds that could bring disruption to parts of the country.
A yellow warning for rain has been issued for Saturday, covering South West Wales and North Wales. That warning currently remains in place for Sunday as well, with the risk of localised flooding and difficult travel conditions.
After a largely dry and bright end to the working week, conditions will turn wetter and windier overnight into Saturday.
Friday 19 September
Much of Wales will enjoy a drier and brighter day, particularly in the east where sunny spells will develop. Rain is expected at times across Anglesey, spreading to other western areas later, and may turn heavy in places. Winds will gradually ease, and temperatures could reach up to 21 °C.
Friday night
Cloud and outbreaks of rain will become more widespread overnight, sometimes heavy, with drizzle in places. It will remain fairly humid, with lows of around 15 °C.
Saturday 20 September
Saturday is expected to be unsettled, with strong winds developing and coastal gales possible later in the day. Persistent outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, may lead to localised flooding. Temperatures will be cooler than Friday, with a maximum of around 18 °C.
Outlook: Sunday 21 – Tuesday 23 September
Sunday will bring a mix of sunny intervals and scattered showers, with strong winds gradually easing, though it will feel much cooler. By Monday and Tuesday, conditions should improve significantly, with drier weather, plenty of sunny spells and only the odd shower expected.
The Met Office is advising people in affected areas to be prepared for possible travel delays and to take care if heading out during the worst of the weather.
