The North Wales chair of a prestigious industry body is inviting local company owners and directors to reflect and share advice in preparation for the new year.
The region’s branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) is hosting a Christmas networking lunch for businesspeople at 17thcentury Bodysgallen Hall in Llandudno.
David Roberts, who is chair of the region’s committee, is encouraging company leaders to attend and experience a refreshing take to networking, while hearing from distinguished business voices in North Wales at the historic site.
With Bodysgallen Hall surrounded by views of Snowdonia National Park and Conwy Castle, David hopes the scenery of the event will give leaders the space and time to reflect while looking ahead to opportunities in 2023.
The festive get-together will take place on Friday December 2 between 12pm and 3pm and has been sponsored by engineering and planning consultancy firm Caulmert, with IoD members and those interested in membership encouraged to attend.
David, who also runs the North Wales branch of coaching service The Alternative Board, said: “After a successful year of welcoming the business community back to in-person networking, we look forward to providing a space for attendees to hear from key speakers, connect with peers, and share knowledge.
“This may be the concluding event for 2022, but this gathering will especially bring a refreshing approach to networking as it will be the committees’ first time organising without a co-host in a long while.
“There’s always value in partnering with other organisations to host, but keeping our festive celebration solely IoD-focused means we can create different ways of connecting and energising attendees, so everyone can start 2023 on the right foot.”
In addition to hosting in-person meet-ups, the North Wales IoD regularly signposts its members to a range of online learning materials, webinars, and training courses while also connecting them to a UK-wide network of members.
David added: “Despite this event being a little different, encouraging leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by North Wales businesses, and to meaningfully connect with peers, will still be the key ingredients for this opportunity.
“When organising our networking, we like to give everyone a chance to speak with the majority of the people in the room, so places will be limited.”
