Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the leasehold sale of The Lion Art Hotel & Restaurant in Berriew, Wales.

Created by renowned sculptor Andrew Logan and Michael Davis in 2018, The Lion Art Hotel & Restaurant is a unique 17thcentury boutique hotel with seven en suite bedrooms and three dining rooms, nestled in the charming village of Berriew in Montgomeryshire. The 400-year-old property combines historic architecture with vibrant interiors and Logan’s own bespoke mirrored artworks.

After eight years, Andrew and Michael have decided to step back from running the business and hand over the reins to Roshan and Srishankar, who have over a decade of hospitality experience in London.

Andrew and Michael commented, “We have loved creating this jewel of a destination, but after eight years we now feel it’s time for a fresh approach. We believe that the operation should be food-led and look forward to seeing the hotel continue under its new owners.”

New owners, Roshan and Srishankar, added, “We are extremely excited to bring this beautiful hotel back to life. It will become a true destination – a restaurant and hotel where everyone can experience warm hospitality and a menu showcasing the very best flavours Wales has to offer.”

James Dodd, Business Agent at Christie & Co, who managed the sale, added, “We are thrilled to see The Lion Hotel & Restaurant preparing to reopen under new stewardship. This iconic Jacobean property in Berriew has always held huge potential as a destination venue, and the new operators are bringing fresh energy and vision to the site. We look forward to seeing the Lion re-establish itself as a go-to spot for exceptional dining and boutique stays in the heart of Mid Wales.”

The leasehold for The Lion Hotel & Restaurant was marketed with an asking price of £40,000 and sold for an undisclosed price.
