    New Chief Executive Officer confirmed for St John Cymru

    Wales’ leading first aid charity are pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Smith as their new Chief Executive Officer.

    Helen has been a pivotal part of the organisation utilising her skills as Director of Finance for the past five years.

    Since acting as CEO since February 2019, Helen will now take the lead on the diverse arms of the charity and encourage an innovative, efficient and commercial approach while continuing to deliver the organisation’s strong care and social objectives; ensuring maximum impact across communities throughout Wales.

    Announcing the appointment, Prior for Wales, Sir Paul Williams, said: “The Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that Helen Smith has been appointed as Chief Executive of St John Cymru.

    “The appointment of Helen as the substantive CEO represents a major step forward, ensuring commitment and strong leadership vital to further develop St John Cymru and the key services we provide to people across Wales.

    “Helen takes this position at an exciting time as we prepare to make energising changes to our branding in the near future.”

    Helen said: “I am truly delighted to accept the position of Chief Executive at St John Cymru.

    “For me, St John Cymru is a charity which delivers the highest standards across every aspect of the organisation and there are some very exciting changes being put in place for 2020 and beyond.

    “I am thrilled to be a part of our exciting future and I look forward to having the opportunity to instil my experience and commitment to our charity and working with colleagues, volunteers and partners alike.”
