A new rooftop restaurant, with a menu of Welsh beef steaks and fresh fish and seafood, is opening at Gin & Juice in Mumbles this weekend.

The Grill restaurant is a new dining terrace with outstanding views of the Mumbles seafront and Oystermouth Castle created by the team behind the successful Gin & Juice gin and cocktail bar.

With a focus on sharing steaks and the best local seafood, sourcing has been central to the design of the new restaurant menu.

The beef is sourced from local Welsh farms. The Grill’s signature ‘Butcher’s Block’ selection are large dry-aged PGI Welsh Beef sharing steaks, sold by weight, with cuts including Tomahawks, T-bones and Chateaubriands.

Fish and seafood are provided by Cardiff’s Snowden & Co with dishes including Welsh coastal oysters simply served in a shallot mignonette, with lemon and Tabasco.

The wine list includes French classics like Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Chablis premier cru alongside Spanish Riojas and Chilean Viogniers, Californian and Provençal rosés and Champagnes from Dom Perignon and Moët & Chandon.

All the breads used are baked in-house by The Grill chefs.

Stephen Barker, founder of Gin & Juice explained:

“The Grill is an exceptional location – we have the best views over the Mumbles from our rooftop and we’ve invested to make the interior every bit as beautiful. We want to bring a touch of elegance and glamour to dining at The Grill and make it the perfect spot for any occasion.

“Our chef Jake and his talented team have created a menu to match – featuring fresh fish and seafood of the highest quality and the very best Welsh steaks. We want to create a restaurant for life’s special celebrations – somewhere to enjoy half a dozen Welsh oysters and a glass of champagne or go full out with a Chateaubriand for two,” he said.

The Grill restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday from 5.30-pm to 9.30-pm the last orders for food. With a limited number of tables, booking in advance is recommended. The Gin & Juice Bar stays open until late, for diners to stay on for a drink for the rest of the evening.

The Grill Rooftop Restaurant at Gin & Juice is at 3 Mumbles Road, Mumbles.
