Residents across Caerphilly County Borough are being invited to nominate the individuals, clubs and volunteers making a positive impact through sport and physical activity as nominations open for the 2026 Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards.
The awards celebrate people who inspire others through their dedication, commitment and achievements, both on and off the field. Nominations are open until 10pm on 23 September.
Categories open for nomination include Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 18), Volunteer of the Year, Inclusive Coach of the Year, Community Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Lifetime Achievement to Sport, Community Club of the Year and Coach of the Year.
The awards recognise excellence at every level of sport and physical activity across the county borough and support the aims of the Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019 to 2029, highlighting the important role volunteers, coaches and community clubs play in creating opportunities for people of all ages to be active.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 20 November at Bryn Meadows Hotel, where the county borough’s sporting community will come together to celebrate those making a difference through sport and physical activity.
Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Sport & Leisure, said:
“The Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the people who make sport and physical activity possible in our communities. From dedicated volunteers and inspiring coaches to thriving clubs, these awards recognise the incredible contribution they make every day. If you know someone who deserves recognition, I would encourage you to submit a nomination and help us celebrate their achievements.”
Nominations can be submitted using either a written nomination form or the new video nomination form. Anyone submitting a video nomination is asked to include a link to their video within the form, ideally using a public or unlisted YouTube link or a Dropbox link.
