North West Cancer Research is searching for the region’s most outstanding cancer nurse to be recognised in its prestigious awards.

People across the North West and North Wales are invited to nominate a cancer nurse for the chance to be honoured at its Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday 19th May.

Nominations can be submitted via the North West Cancer Research website until 14 February.

In addition to the Outstanding Cancer Nurse award, which will recognise a cancer nurse who has shown outstanding care, compassion and dedication to their patients and work, the science and research categories include Rising Star in Research, Excellence in Research, Research Advocate, and Patient Impact Awards.

For supporters, awards will be handed out for Dedication to North West Cancer Research Cause, Individual Fundraiser, Fundraising Event and Corporate Supporter Awards.

Entries will be judged by a panel from the charity and scientific community and the winners will be announced during the ceremony.

Alastair Richards, CEO of North West Cancer Research, said: “It is an honour to be able to celebrate the dedication of our supporters as well as excellence in research across our region. It is thanks to our fundraisers, researchers, corporate supporters and donors, that we have evolved to become the organisation that we are today. This is a wonderful chance to celebrate people’s efforts and we look forward to crowning the winners.”

North West Cancer Research is an independent charity dedicated to putting the region’s cancer needs first by funding life-saving research and education to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer.

For more information on the award categories or submit a nomination, visit: https://nwcr.org/nwcrawards/. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Monday 14 February. Shortlisting will commence the following week.
