The much loved Oswestry Balloon Carnival will return to Cae Glas Park on August 22nd and 23rd 2026, bringing a weekend of colour, entertainment and family friendly fun back to the heart of the town.

Organised in association with Nightingale House Hospice, Oswestry Town Council and Oswestry BID, the annual event has become a firm fixture in Oswestry’s calendar, attracting visitors from across the region while raising vital funds for hospice care.

Across the weekend, visitors will be able to enjoy the spectacle of hot air balloons taking to the skies, weather permitting, alongside live entertainment, local performances, interactive activities and a wide range of food and craft stalls. The event is free to attend, with visitors encouraged to make a voluntary donation to support the essential services provided by Nightingale House Hospice.

Adele Nightingale, Oswestry BID Manager, said:

“Oswestry BID is delighted to welcome the Balloon Carnival back to our town for 2026. The event has become a real highlight in Oswestry’s calendar, attracting visitors from across the region and providing a significant boost to local businesses. The carnival showcases the very best of Oswestry’s spirit, vibrant, welcoming, and full of character. We’re proud to once again support such a landmark event.”

Rosie Radford, Mayor of Oswestry, added:

“The Balloon Carnival has grown into one of Oswestry’s most loved cultural events, and we are delighted to welcome it back for 2026. It brings vibrancy, pride and togetherness to the town, showcasing Oswestry at its very best. The Town Council is committed to supporting events that enrich community life, and the return of the carnival is a moment we know many residents will be excited to celebrate.”

Elise Jackson, Events and Campaigns Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, said:

“The Oswestry Balloon Carnival means so much to Nightingale House Hospice, not only because of the incredible atmosphere it creates, but because of the generosity it inspires. Every donation made during the weekend helps us continue to provide free, compassionate care to patients and families across our community. We’re incredibly thankful to our partners, volunteers and everyone who comes along to support the hospice, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming people back in August 2026.”
