Families across Newport are being invited to make the most of the summer holidays with more than 60 activities taking place across Newport Live venues.

The programme features a wide range of activities for all ages, from sport and creative workshops to live entertainment and affordable family days out.

Cinema lovers can enjoy the latest blockbuster films, including Toy Story 5, Moana and more, with tickets priced at £3.50.

Other activities include family bike rides, outdoor tennis, intensive swimming lessons and popular live shows such as In The Night Garden, The Cat In The Hat and Welsh Wrestling.

A number of free activities are also on offer throughout the summer.

These include Active Families, a new outdoor family friendly walking and activity event taking place at various venues across Newport. Families can also take part in free weekly ukulele lessons and craft workshops at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre.

One of the highlights of the programme is Sport in the Park, taking place at Rogerstone Welfare Grounds on Wednesday 12 August and Beechwood Park on Wednesday 19 August.

The family event offers a range of activities for £8 for two children.

The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre will also host a packed programme of workshops, including ceramics, graffiti, skateboarding, dance summer school and film club sessions.

A free Summer Market featuring live music and vintage stalls will also take place at The Riverfront on Saturday 8 August.

Andrea Ovey, Director of Business Development at Newport Live, said:

“Supporting healthier, happier and more connected communities is at the heart of what we do. This summer we’ve created a diverse programme of activities that gives families the chance to stay active, learn new skills, enjoy cultural experiences and spend quality time together, all at great value.”

    She added:

“As part of our mission to be inspiring, happier and healthier we pride ourselves on our holiday activity provision across all our venues. We realise that the six week holiday can be a challenging time for parents in terms of keeping their kids occupied, so we’re offering a really diverse range of activities to hopefully help this Summer.”

All activities will take place across Newport Live venues, offering opportunities for families to stay active, get creative and spend time together throughout the school holidays.
