Patient Gerry Raises £1000 for Nightingale House on his 90th birthday

Victor Gerald Wooster (Gerry) donates £1000 to hospice

Victor Gerald Wooster (Gerry) from Wrexham celebrated his 90th birthday in style, with many family members coming from all over the world, including his son and daughter-in-law from Canada, his sister from Ireland and his grandson from Holland.

Gerry hosted a collection for Nightingale House Hospice during his milestone birthday celebration with family and friends. He had no idea that the collection would amount to a grand total of £1,000!

Explaining why he chose to donate the collection to the hospice, Gerry mentioned “I choose Nightingale House because of the care I’ve received over the past 4 years. I first came to the Monday drop-in sessions after being referred by the heart failure team at the hospital, and that’s what started it.”

After receiving care from Nightingale House Hospice for a number of years, Gerry has benefited from many of their services. He added, “I’ve received professional care from the hospice team, including physiotherapy, acupuncture and massages from complementary therapists, and I take part in the Nightingale Wellbeing Program. The assistance I’ve received has proven to be really beneficial for me, especially having doctors and other professionals at the hospice that we can contact whenever.

“It’s the care that we get here, the volunteers and staff are very helpful, friendly, and always there for us. The people at Nightingale House are all really caring and would do anything for you.”
