A woman from Swansea has been jailed after throwing boiling water towards another woman’s face.

21-year-old Jessica Thorne, from Penlan, committed the offence on Boxing Day last year. The victim was left with a large red burn on the side of their face which could take up to two years to heal and may leave scarring.

She has been sentenced to ten months and two weeks in prison.

    Detective Sergeant Samuel Stanway said:

“Jessica Thorne has proven herself to be an incredibly dangerous woman, having made the decision to enact an attack on the victim which could have left them scarred for life.

“This attack was purely motivated by jealousy for the victim.

“We hope that the victim makes a swift recovery and is comforted that Jessica Thorne is going to prison.”
