The Persimmon Foundation is proud to announce a donation of £7,500 to Swansea City AFC Community Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving lives through sport and education in Swansea and South West Wales.

The Persimmon Foundation, established in 2015, has a track record of advancing urban regeneration, health, education, and poverty alleviation. With around £1.5 million donated to more than 1,400 organisations in the past three years, the foundation continues to make a tangible impact in communities where the Persimmon Group operates.

Swansea City AFC Community Foundation runs innovative programmes that address challenges such as social isolation, health inequalities, and educational gaps. The Foundation also focuses on building prosperity by inspiring educational achievement and entrepreneurial spirit. It works to develop resilience by offering experiences and relationships that support mental health and nurture optimism.

Improving health is another priority, with an emphasis on encouraging a love of exercise and healthy eating. The Foundation is committed to supporting inclusivity by working for equality and aiding the most disadvantaged in society. Additionally, it strives to grow sustainably, ensuring long-term financial stability and managing its environmental impact.

The Persimmon Foundation’s support will contribute to key projects that align with these goals, empowering local youth and building stronger communities.

Anthony Vigor, Chair of Trustees for the Persimmon Foundation, said:

“We are thrilled to contribute to Swansea City FC Community Foundation’s efforts to enhance lives through sport across Swansea and South West Wales.

“Their work aligns closely with our mission to support communities in meaningful and impactful ways.”

Paul France, Head of Swansea City AFC Community Foundation, added:

“This funding is a vital boost for our community programmes. As the charitable arm of the club, we strive to inspire and engage people from all backgrounds from across South West Wales.

“Our mission is to use Swansea City AFC as a force for positive change within our communities, creating the conditions needed for communities to flourish, and we are very grateful to the Persimmon Foundation for their support and for helping us continue to make a positive difference in Swansea and the wider region.”

Mike Hedges, Swansea East Member of the Senedd, commented:

“I warmly welcome the Persimmon Foundation’s support for the Swansea City FC Community Foundation.

“This generous donation will help tackle key social challenges in our area and highlights the transformative role sport can play in building healthier and more connected communities.

“The Foundation’s work is making a real difference in Swansea, and it’s wonderful to see this important support.”
