Phillips Wellbeing, the award-winning counselling centre is opening a new office in Cardiff. This marks the organisation’s second location, following the success of its Newport base.
The expansion comes at a time when workplace absence linked to mental health and stress continues to rise. According to the CIPD’s latest Health and Wellbeing at Work report, employees are now taking an average of 9.4 days off each year. This is up from 7.8 days in 2023 and 5.8 days in 2022, nearly doubling over three years.
Phillips Wellbeing has grown into a trusted name in south Wales with a team of 11 counsellors, each bringing their own experiences and specialisms. Some of the team have been supporting clients for more than two decades.
The centre provides independent, impartial and non-judgemental counselling in a safe, confidential environment, championing face-to-face sessions in comfortable rooms designed to help people explore their feelings.
Phillips Wellbeing has recently been recognised with the Counselling Service of the Year 2025/2026 award at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards, marking the second consecutive year the organisation has received this honour. This achievement cements its position as a multi award-winning company dedicated to exceptional care and professional excellence.
Speaking about the Cardiff office launch, Tracy Phillips, co-founder and qualified counsellor said: “Opening our Cardiff office is an exciting step for Phillips Wellbeing. We have seen a clear increase in demand for professional counselling support from both individuals and organisations, who are looking to prioritise mental health in meaningful ways.
“Our mission has always been to provide a safe and supportive space where people can access the right support, and talk openly, without judgement.
“Expanding into Cardiff allows us to reach more people at a time when the need for accessible, professional counselling has never been greater.”
Phillips Wellbeing works with both private clients and organisations across the public and private sectors. More businesses are now adopting wellbeing strategies, with 57% having a formal plan in place, but challenges remain as workloads and management pressures continue to drive stress-related absence.
Phillips Wellbeing partners with employers to offer secure and professional counselling services that can reduce the impact of workplace stress.
To celebrate the expansion, Phillips Wellbeing will host a private launch event at the Principality Stadium on Friday 10 October.
