Playing Slots Like Wolf Gold Can Spark an Interest in Learning About the Animal’s History in Wales

Wolves are mysterious and fascinating creatures, now mainly living in remote areas with little interaction with humans. In the past, though, they were far more prevalent and existed for years across what is now known as Great Britain. Many people are interested in the animals, and this is reflected in the availability of popular games and slots based on them.

Playing wolf-themed slots is a good way to spark intrigue about these predators and could persuade you to delve into their history in Wales.

Wolf Gold Allows Players to Get Close to the Animals

In Game of Thrones, the dire wolves were loved by audiences and fans expressed great disappointment when many of them died. Game developer Pragmatic Play may have noticed their popularity, as it designed a game that would most certainly appeal to this crowd. When players start playing Wolf Gold, they have a chance to get close to these wild animals. The immersive setting gives off a sense of being in the forest at night, with wolves howling at the moon.

If you’re someone who likes spinning the reels, you may find that this game is a good one to get lost in. It has special features that reflect the enigmatic side of wolves and could encourage you to start learning more about the animals outside of the world of slots.

Have You Ever Studied the History of Wolves in Wales?

If you haven’t dived into the history of wolves in Wales before, you may be surprised to find out that they were once widespread around the country. Indeed, early writing from the Romans described how the animals were abundant on the island when they conquered the land in the 1st Century. They were large as well, and were one of the few species that hadn’t succumbed to island dwarfism.

The history books have accounts of wolves in Great Britain for most of the first millennium, but they were gradually hunted down and eventually stamped out. The first king of England, Athelstan, used to send 300 wolf skins every year to the Welsh king, Hywel Dda, as a tribute. At that time, the areas bordering Wales were covered in thick forests and wolves were numerous within these regions.

Wolves were hunted and exterminated for hundreds of years, and it is thought that they eventually went extinct in Britain under the rule of Henry VII around the turn of the 15th Century.

Can You Still See Wolves in the Country?

There are no more wild wolves in Wales, but some people would like to see them reintroduced. They could easily survive in the forests and countryside areas and could be beneficial for the ecosystem. When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the 1990s, they had a positive impact and prevented the overgrazing of the area’s elk population.

Playing Wolf Gold and watching Game of Thrones is the closest you’ll get to see wolves in Wales at the moment. However, there is a chance that they will return to Britain one day if scientists believe they can have a positive effect on nature.
