    Police close A470 near Coryton Interchange following crash

    Motorists are being urged to avoid the Coryton Interchange area in Cardiff following a collision which has led to major road closures on the A470.

    According to South Wales Police, officers are currently at the scene of a collision on Coryton Interchange in Tongwynlais.

    The A470 has been closed in both directions between Tongwynlais and Northern Avenue while emergency services deal with the incident.

    Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible, with delays expected on surrounding roads during the closure.

    In a statement, South Wales Police said: “We’re at the scene of a collision on Coryton Interchange, Tongwynlais, Cardiff.

    “The road is currently closed on the A470 in both directions, from Tongwynlais to Northern Avenue.

    “Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Thank you for your patience.”

    There are currently no further details about the nature of the collision or whether anyone has been injured.

    Motorists are advised to check traffic updates before travelling through the area.
