A Cardiff-based financial services business has added to its team bringing its total number of employees to over 100.
Quantum Advisory provides pension and employee benefits services to employers, scheme trustees and members and last year relocated its head office to larger premises in St Mellons to accommodate its growing team.

Established in 2000, Quantum has experienced double digit growth over the past few years and now owns a large share of the Welsh market when it comes to corporate pensions. Following a surge in demand for pensions services across the water, Quantum opened a new office in Bristol in 2016 taking the company’s total offices to five, alongside Amersham, Birmingham and London.

The new recruits include Senior Project Development Analyst Simon Freeman, HR Officer Tessy Matthew, Accounts Assistant Charlie Laundon, Payroll Officer Gemma Pugh, Pensions Administrator Louisa Fieldhouse and Pensions Administrator Jenny Smith.

For Cardiff University graduate Charlie, this is his first fulltime role. He said: “The ability to work towards a professional qualification was important to me and at Quantum I am able to study for ICAEW ACA. Being new, I’m hoping that a fresh set of eyes within the team could help us to find ways to make our processes even more efficient.”
Simon has 27 years in the pension industry having started his career with Sun Alliance in 1991. He said: “I really admire the vision and values that Quantum maintains and the company’s relationship with their staff as well as the services it offers. I believe strongly in working with other people towards a common goal and know the skills and pensions knowledge I possess will not only bring me work satisfaction, but will also make me a valuable team member.”

Jenny combines her position with studying for a Certificate in Pension Calculations (CPC). She said: “Quantum offer good study support and I was able to transfer over my current exams when I started. I’m now working on both defined contribution schemes and defined benefit, whereas in my previous role I solely worked on defined benefit schemes. I’m looking forward to gaining this extra experience and I think that Quantum giving me more responsibility will help push me to develop.”

Stuart Price, Partner at Quantum Advisory said: “The last few years have been phenomenal in terms of business success and subsequent growth. Quantum offers something unique in that we are the only financial services company in Wales providing the full range of pensions expert advice and related services all under one roof.
“To now have over 100 people in the Quantum team is testament to our strategic growth plans and investment in people. Our Cardiff HQ is where the majority of our staff are based and the fantastic location allows us to provide unparalleled central services to our regional offices.

“We welcome Charlie, Simon, Jenny, Tessy, Gemma and Louisa on board and look forward to growing our service offering and team in 2018.”

On Friday 16 March Quantum Advisory will be holding a fundraising event at the Celtic Manor to primarily raise money for Ty Hafan, a charity close to its heart, and also celebrate the milestone of reaching 100 team members.
