Rap stars ask fans to bring foodbank donations to Cardiff gig

Bad Boy Chiller Crew (BBCC) have launched a Fan For Foodbanks’s initiative, encouraging gig goers to bring non-perishable food goods to their upcoming shows for donation to The Trussell Trust approved Manchester Central Foodbank. BBCC launched the initiative on Friday at their Manchester Gorilla show, with plans to roll it out fully during their Spring 2022 tour which kicks off in April.

A philanthropic cause close to the boys’ hearts, the band have seen the all-too-real effects of extreme poverty in the UK having grown up on estates in Bradford where food banks are a vital part of the community. The damaging effects of the pandemic have caused food bank usage to rise to an all time high and the trio wish to make a difference, trialling this donation initiative at their recent Manchester show, with the intention of rolling out the project into a fully fledged accompaniment to their UK tour. Fans will be rewarded for their donations with limited edition signed posters and a promise from Bad Boy Chiller Crew to match all monetary donations made at the shows.

Donations were personally delivered to The Trussell Trust by BBCC following Friday night’s show. One of the first of its kind at music gigs, the initiative provides the boys with a chance to rally alongside those that also come from working-class roots and give back to less fortunate members of our society.

Bradford rap stars Bad Boy Chiller Crew, who play Cardiff Great Hall on 29th April, released their album Disrespectful on Friday and are in an extremely tight race for Number 1 this week
