Rare CS:GO Skin — M4A4 Howl

Skin trading has become a vibrant part of the CS:GO ecosystem. It brings fair remuneration to game fans who are not only dedicated players but also collectors of rare in-game items. They know the value of various skins and understand the real price of expressing your individuality. There is no difference whether you play for Counter-Terrorists or Terrorists — you still can create your own style and make your rivals afraid. Today, we will briefly review one of the rarest CS:GO skins, and explain its value to the general public.

M4A4 Howl Skin History

In 2014, the skins market skyrocketed. More and more designers and artists began to create artworks for CS:GO weapons. In CS:GO, there were only six main types of skin rarity. But everything had changed when Auzzii added the Howl pattern skin, which influenced the creation of a new type of rarity — contraband. The skin quickly gained the love and popularity of the players. A week later, it already had more than 4,000 positive rates. In May 2014, the popularity and ratings were enough for Valve to add a new case — Huntsman Weapon. This is exactly when M4A4 Howl received the rarity status.

Since June 11, 2014, the skin  became unavailable to the public. You could neither get it from the case, receive it after the match, nor create it in contracts. The only way to get it was to redeem it from another user. The lucky ones who somehow managed to get the M4A4 Howl before the scandal instantly got rich. The price of the skin has grown a hundred times — if  the most shabby Howl cost $16-17 before, it now costs $3,111 on DMarket.

Brief Info About the Skin

The design of the skin is incredible: the body of the gun can be distinguished by its fiery forks of flame, from which the screaming wolf appears. There are also some stickers associated with this skin:

  • Crown – $495;
  • Firestarter – $3;
  • HellRaisers – $365;
  • Howling Dawn – $982;
  • Battle Scarred – $2.

You can select the cheaper option if you allow some wear range compromises. The optimal wear range for M4A4 Howl is 00 – 0.40. The Factory New rifle will cost you about $5,400, while the Field-Tested gun will already cost you $2,800. If you abandon the StatTrak feature, you can save from $9,000 to $2,000 depending on the wear rate. We believe that real fans of this skin will appreciate the discount provided.

To buy or sell in-game items, register on DMarket — one of the leading marketplaces with the most democratic fees and small commission. One may also appreciate the possibility of trading via PayPal and almost instant withdrawals.

The Twitter user ohnePixel, well-versed in the economics of CS:GO, revealed that a very rare StatTrak M4A4 (Howl) weapon skin was recently purchased for an astronomical price of $100,000. The digital item was bought by a Chinese collector.
