    Remembrance Day town centre services and parades in Neath and Port Talbot

    The annual Remembrance Day services and parades will take place in Port Talbot and Neath on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.

    Remembrance ceremonies will also be held in various locations across the county borough organised by town and community councils, voluntary and community organisations.

    The details of the services and parades taking place in Port Talbot and Neath on Sunday, November 10th  are:

    Port Talbot

    The Mayor, Councillor Colin Matthew Crowley, will attend the parade and service at the Cenotaph in Taibach Memorial Park.

    The parade will move off from outside the Grand Hotel, Port Talbot, at 10.15 am, arriving at Talbot Memorial Park at 10.55 am.  The Remembrance Service and the laying of wreaths will start at 11am followed by the return parade and salute opposite the Royal British Legion Clubhouse, finishing back outside the Grand Hotel.

    Neath

    The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Wayne Carpenter will attend a Service of Remembrance in St David’s Church, Neath, commencing at 9.30 am (seated by 9.20 am).

    Following the service, those taking part will muster for parade on St David’s Street at 10.35 am and the parade will move off at 10.40 am to arrive at the Memorial Gates at the entrance to Gnoll Estate Country Park at 10.50 am for the laying of wreaths at 11 am.

    Participants will then muster for the return parade to take the salute at the Dais situated at the entrance to Cedar Road, Neath, at 11.15 am.
