Rob Brydon and Wynne Evans raise more than £20,000

Wynne Evans and Rob Brydon

Tenovus Cancer Care patrons Rob Brydon and Wynne Evans have raised more than £20,000 for the charity with an online evening of entertainment.

‘A night in with Rob Brydon’ was hosted by singer and broadcaster Evans and was watched by more than 1,000 people online.

Brydon shared some of his funniest stories from a career in show business and took questions from the audience. The evening also featured performances from Tenovus Cancer Care’s Sing with Us choirs.

A raffle held on the night raised more than £5,000, with prizes including tickets to watch the filming of Would I Lie to You and a chance to meet Brydon.

Lisa Buckley, head of fundraising for Tenovus Cancer Care, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Rob and Wynne for taking part in such a fantastic evening and raising so much money for the charity.

“Wynne was the perfect host and as always Rob was hilariously funny and very generous with his time.

“The night was a huge success and all the money raised will help us to support cancer patients and their loved ones in communities across Wales.

“We’d also like to thank event sponsors Open University Wales, Tiny Rebel, Berry Smith, Pinnacle and Whiteheads Building Services for their fantastic support.”

Tenovus Cancer Care’s next online event will be a sports quiz on Friday 24th July, further details will be posted on www.tenovuscancercare.org.uk later this month.
