St Tydfil Shopping Centre is delighted to be bringing back its Santa’s grotto giving children the chance to share their festive wishes with Father Christmas.

The free grotto will launch on Saturday 17th November, adding an extra festive feel to Merthyr’s Christmas lights switch-on event.  It will then be open between 10am and 4pm every Friday and Saturday until Saturday 22nd December. Each child who visits will receive a goody bag.

Children will also be able to post their letters to Santa in the special post box, which Father Christmas will be emptying every Friday and Saturday. He will ensure all the letters are passed on to his helpers at his North Pole workshop.

In addition, the first St Tydfil Shopping Centre’s Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Saturday 17th November, giving visitors the opportunity to purchase unique gifts for friends and family. Local crafters will then also be in the shopping centre on Saturday 1st and Saturday 15th December.

Julie Calderbank, Operations Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:

“Our Santa’s grotto was extremely popular last year and we’re once again delighted to be welcoming Father Christmas back to meet Merthyr children. The town’s Christmas lights switch-on event is a magical evening for local families and we hope that launching our grotto on the same day will help everyone get into the festive spirit.”

Santa’s Grotto at St Tydfil Shopping Centre is free to visit and is open between 10am and 4pm every Friday and Saturday between Saturday 17th November and Saturday 22nd December.
