Cardiff Bay’s leading entertainment venue, The Red Dragon Centre, is hosting a superhero takeover this August bank holiday weekend.

On Monday 28 August, the Centre will be receiving a visit from Iron Man and Spider-Man whilst life-size superhero statues will be on display across the mall.

Guests will also have the opportunity to win a day out at the Centre for four by taking a marvel-lous selfie with one of the characters, tagging The Red Dragon Centre on socials with the hashtag #RDCsuperherosummer.

The Super Summer Hero Quest, a free and unique augmented reality trail, is also taking place, seeing guests use the floor markers in the Centre to scan and unlock their favourite heroes, bringing them to life. Participants can use the free Heroes United app to scale the images to bring them into the real world and create a treasure hunt through their screens.

As an added bonus, the Centre will be welcoming the team from Geek Retreat to host a merchandise stall, launching the exciting new trading card game Disney Lorcana.

Emma Constantinou, marketing manager at The Red Dragon Centre, said: “We cannot wait to welcome guests to our Superhero Summer this year, giving families a chance to see their favourite heroes come to life. Families and groups can come and enjoy every aspect of the centre in what will be an epic celebration.”

The Superhero Takeover will take place between 10am – 6pm.

The Red Dragon Centre, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, is Cardiff Bay’s leading entertainment venue and houses a multitude of interactive, lifestyle and food and drink venues including Odeon Cinema, the home of Wales’ only IMAX screen, the Hollywood Bowl, Grosvenor Casino, Simply Gym, Five Guys, Spice Route, Volcano, Roots and Zaika.
