Solicitors lay down the law and pick up tools to help revamp school

A team from Mackenzie Jones Solicitors – which has offices in the city, St Asaph, and Menai Bridge – donated time and materials to overhaul the Reception classroom and playground at Grosvenor Park Academy.

The school has more than 180 children and is part of North West Academies Trust, so having a warm, welcoming area for the younger learners was important.

The firm joined staff, parents, and governors in transforming it into a fresh, clean and inspiring environment, following a campaign which saw them receive toys, puzzles and utensils for the popular ‘mud kitchen’.

Mackenzie Jones director Andy Foley-Jones and colleagues also funded a new sand and water tray, furniture and chalkboard paint, mirrors and more, to encourage and entertain the children during outdoor play.

He said: “We like to support the communities where we are based so it was a privilege to be able to help bring the reception area at Grosvenor Park Academy back to life.

“It looks absolutely fantastic and I’m sure will give the pupils and teachers lots of enjoyment over the coming years.”

School governor Sarah Roberts added: “We are so grateful to Mackenzie Jones Solicitors for their kind contribution toward the redevelopment of the Reception area.

“The space is so different, it’s a breath of fresh air and made it a much more appealing and attractive space both inside and outdoors – the pupils love it!

“Thanks again to them and to everyone who kindly gave their time, expertise and items for this project.”
