Wales Airshow fans seeking an even more special experience can now buy tickets for the event’s Flight Deck.

Show organiser Swansea Council has also announced the return of a favourite display.

The Airshow is due to attract tens of thousands of people on July 1 and 2 with a series of world class displays over Swansea Bay.

Wales Airshow is free – but tickets are now on sale for the hugely popular Flight Deck, sponsored by Gower College Swansea.

Right at the heart of the display area, this relaxed, fenced off and secure seating zone guarantees prime, unobstructed views of the air displays. Open from 11am-6pm on both days, there are tables, chairs, a marquee providing cover plus the option to purchase drinks and food in the same area.

Also back this year, will be the popular South Wales-based Team Raven, a formation aerobatic display team flying self-build aircraft who have performed across Europe.

Formed nine years ago, the six hugely experienced pilots fly 21ft-long Vans RV-8 planes which have a maximum speed of 220mph.

Already announced are the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster bomber as part of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight – and crowd favourites the RAF Red Arrows and RAF Typhoon Display Team.

There’ll be many other stars of the skies too – and a wide range of family fun on the ground, including displays, virtual reality experiences and live music.

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “We’re delighted that Team Raven will be flying over Swansea again this summer. It’ll be great to have them back over the skies of Swansea.”

“We thank all the traders and our sponsors for their contribution to the show’s ongoing success.

“The show always has a real family atmosphere which results in a great weekend for all involved. It contributes millions of pounds to our local economy.”
