If you’re looking for a fun Halloween-themed event for the whole family Tŷ Hafan’s Dark Run is back and bigger than ever this autumn.
Tickets are now on sale for this spook-tastic 2k fundraising fun run through the dark in Cardiff’s historic Bute Park on Saturday 17 October.
Tŷ Hafan’s Head of Fundraising James Davies-Hale says: “Expect to hear things go bump in the night! But don’t delay because we can only offer 500 places and tickets are already selling fast.
“Sponsored by our friends at Acorns Nurseries our Dark Run will take you past the Gorsedd Stone Circle, up past Blackfriars Friary, along the path next to the river Taff towards the orchard lawn. We’ll be lighting up parts of the grounds for this event, plus you can expect music, entertainmentand a giant glow stick to light your way!
Cherie Wilson, Director at Acorns Nurseries Ltd, said: “We are incredibly proud to sponsor again this year’s Tŷ Hafan Dark Run on 17th October. The day is extra special for us as it falls on the same day as Acorns Nurseries’ 38th birthday!

“Run, walk or jog, the choice is yours,” continues James Davies-Hale. “Fancy dress is optional but strongly encouraged (think bright neon colours and Halloween dress up!), and we’ll be giving a prize for the best costume. Registration opens at 5:45pm, the event will start at 6:30pm and there isn’t a time limit for completing the route.
“Finally, not forgetting, when you do Tŷ Hafan’s Dark Run not only will you be having some great Halloween fun but you’ll also be helping to make sure that no family has to live their child’s short life alone.”
