Staff at leading Welsh medical supply company Hospital Innovations have ‘virtually’ joined together to support National Donate Life Month and raise awareness of the importance of tissue donation. Team members from across the UK have been dressing in green and blue all month as part of a global campaign to highlight Donate Life and its Tissue Bank partners.

Since 2003, National Donate Life Month has seen communities holding events and completing activities to explain the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and how it saves lives. The American scheme ultimately aims to increase donor volunteers.

Founded in 2008, Hospital Innovations is a Human Tissue Authority (HTA) licensed supplier of specialist products used in orthopaedic and corrective surgeries and works in partnership with five of the world’s leading tissue banks.

Sarah Lister-Sims, Managing Director at Hospital Innovations, said: “We deal with some of the largest US tissue banks so are very aware of this campaign. One of our partners, LifeNet Health, is particularly passionate about the occasion and, along with its international distributors, held a focal day on 17th April, which we shared our team montage to coincide with.

“We are proud to support the campaign and our Partners once again – albeit a little different this year.”

Human tissue donation includes skin, bone and eyes and can drastically improve individuals’ quality of life. To find out more, visit www.donatelife.net or www.hospitalinnovations.com.
