There are a total of five features to be unearthed in Gonzo’s Quest Megaways, all playing their part to add drama to the reels and rows at play. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at each feature to be found.
Avalanche
If you spin the reels and create winning combinations, the symbols within the match will explode and disappear from the game grid, leaving gaps in their wake.
These gaps will be filled by the avalanche feature. Any symbols above the gaps, whether you can see them on the screen or not, will fall and fill the gaps.
If more symbols matches are created from the avalanche, the process will happen once again, until no further matches can be made on the game grid – and a new spin is required.
Avalanche Multiplier
This feature only activates when the avalanche feature is activated. For each avalanche that occurs in a row, the avalanche multiplier will add a multiplier to the winning matches created.
The avalanche multiplier will add a multiplier each time, to the limit of 5x.
When there are no more matches to be made with an avalanche and a new spin is required, the avalanche multiplier will reset back to 1x when a new avalanche is created.
Unbreakable Wilds
When two wilds land on the reels within the same spin and both help form a winning symbol combination, all symbols from that match will explode and fall off the game grid, apart from the wilds.
The wilds will continue to stay in place for the avalanche feature, to see if they can potentially create future matches. If no matches can be made from the avalanche, the reels will need to be spun again and the wilds will move on.
Earthquake
Just like a real-life earthquake, you never really know when this feature will activate. However, you’ll know when an earthquake is in play as the reels and rows will begin to shake. In the shaking motion, all low value symbols will crumble and fall from the game grid, creating a potential opportunity for high valued symbol matches to be made.
Free Fall and Royal Wheel
This feature is activated by either three or more scatter symbols landing on the reels within the same spin, or two scatters and a wild.
Each symbol that helps to unlock this bonus feature will award you with three free spins. So, for example, if you unlock this feature with three scatter symbols, you’ll be awarded nine free spins to use in the bonus round.
Before the bonus round begins, you’ll be presented with the Royal Wheel feature, where you’ll be offered to spin the wheel and potentially increase your spin total – or decrease it too. This is an optional spin, so you don’t have to spin the Royal Wheel if you don’t want to.
After you’ve spun the Royal Wheel or not, you’ll then get to use your free spins on the bonus round reels.
Here, the avalanche multiplier feature will increase by 3x. So, for example, the first avalanche would be worth 3x, the second in a row would be worth 6x, and if you managed to achieve four avalanches in a row, you’ll see a 15x multiplier enter into play.
